My Carry-Handle is Better Than Yours

Black guns and nostalgia have been a part of the desire for firearms for as long as I can remember. To be honest they might even have been the reason I got into the industry in the first place. Guns, combined with historical events, have always had certain aesthetics that draw people in. Today we have been even better at doing this. Most guns are about ninety-five percent functional, the rest is what appears to be functionality but is appealing to the eye. Take the new image of the bearded warrior, resistant to his uniform standards, yet still adhering to some part of his soldierly image, as if it makes a difference in a gunfight. Placed in his hand is any number of AR-15 variant that looks as if he concocted it himself and was made solely for him and the battlefield, battle-worn spray paint and all.

It seems comical, but it is all true, and incredibly based in reality. This is where the carry-handle build comes in. Traditional AK-47’s, FAL’s and FNC’s are examples, not of the carry-handle gang, but of nostalgic weapons of a dangerous and bygone era. So is the carry-handle itself, affixed to an M-16, M4 or XM177. I will be honest and let you know that the imagery draws me in as well. I just started my own and I can’t wait for it to be done. Why did I start it? Why spend my hard-earned money on it? Because it looks cool, iron sights are a perishable skill and none of my friends have a .300 Blackout CAR-15ish thingy in their safe….yet. This is the beginning of a series by the way.
